National Specialty Alloys as a company got our start by targeting the Pump Industry and specializing in what we call our Pump Shaft Quality (PSQ) material. As a whole the Pump Industry is extremely large and is incorporated into many facets of our lives, such as water supply,fire protection, oil & gas, power plants, waste water treatment, processing chemicals, food & pharmaceuticals, and many more. With our headquarters located in Houston, Texas NSA initially penetrated the Pump Industry through local Oil & Offshore companies with success. We have been able to provide just in time delivery, whether it be custom shafting or some of our NSA PSQ floor stock to these companies solidifying ourselves as a supplier. Our Pump Shaft Quality stock is unlike the standard, we order our material from the mill with tighter tolerances and straightness, which is much more cost effective than turning one bar at a time. Additionally, we keep plenty of over sized material available so when we do have customer specific shafting we dont have to start a whole size up, we simply use our over sized material which in turn is much more reasonable and has a better lead time. The Pump Industry was an ideal starting point for National Specialty Alloys as it served as an overlap and created only a natural progression to the many other industries we serve today.
