Austenitic Stainless Steel Flat Bar
Austenitic stainless steels are most commonly used; in fact, they are approximately 70% of overall stainless steel production. Austenitic stainless steel flat bar is not magnetic due to its high nickel and chromium composition. It is also the most resistant to corrosion of all stainless steel grades.
In addition, austenitic stainless steel flat bar provides excellent mechanical properties. It can be hardened considerably by cold working, but not through heat treatment.
Grade 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel, available in a wider range of forms, products and finishes than any other.
- Grades Available:
- Primary Elements:
- A typical austenitic stainless steel is 18/8 stainless, which is composed of 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
Martensitic Stainless Steel Flat Bar
Martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steel flat bar is known for its combination of strength and corrosion resistance. It is heat treatable and easily fabricated (when compared to other stainless steels). Besides being used in stainless steel flat bar, martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steels are used in rod, forgings, wire and flat rolled form as well.
